Threaded Assembly Failure Analysis

Identifying the parameters that impact threaded assembly strength and using the required failure analysis tools to solve issues autonomously.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to do the following:

  • Identify factors that impact in-service strength of threaded assemblies
  • Improve tightening practices and threaded assembly testing
  • Acquire the technical vocabulary related to failure analysis
  • Apply failure analysis methods specific to threaded assemblies
  • Identify the causes of failure and non-compliance using various characterization means and methods.

No technical prerequisites.

Pedagogical Means

Technical presentations alternating 50/50 between theory and case studies, enriched by discussion and questions from the trainees.

  • Tightening methods and testing
  • Types of damage and defects (non-compliance)
  • Failure analysis methods adapted to threaded assemblies (case studies).
