Boilers and Fired Heaters

Boilers and fired heaters are critical equipment in most plants and a failure can result in injury or loss of life, costly disruption to operations and heavy equipment replacement costs. As boiler and furnace components are operated in extreme conditions of temperature and pressure, their lifetimes are often limited by creep, fatigue, oxidation and corrosion.
To ensure the safety, reliability and productive of these assets, it is important to develop a comprehensive and systematic inspection strategy with a risk-based philosophy. Data must be effectively and accurately collected from inspection and monitoring to reduce the uncertainties in assessing the existing state of damage and remaining life of such equipment.
Our Expertise:
We are a MoM-certified third-party inspection body for pressure vessels and have been actively involved in asset integrity management (AIM) services to extend the remaining service life and (statutory) inspection of boilers and furnaces. We have also extensive experience in condition assessment of marine boilers and one of the few companies capable of conducting IRIS inspection of hard-to-access tube bends in boilers.
We probably have the largest archive of failure analysis case studies on boilers and associated components in this region, having served many major companies in a wide variety of industries for more than 30 years.
Our Services:
- Condition assessment of HRSGs, fired boilers and heaters
- Technical assessment to extend statutory inspection of HRSGs and boilers
- Risk-based inspection, remaining life and fitness-for-service assessments
- Failure analysis to establish root cause of failure
- NDT including surface metallographic replication, IRIS inspection (customized to access tight tube bends), positive material identification (PMI), remote visual inspection
- Recommendations on materials selection, inspection and repair solutions
- Expert witness for litigation and/or insurance claim cases
